Last Minute Mother's Day Gift Ideas - Covid Style

Listen, it's not your fault that Covid has us all messed up with time. Here are some last minute thoughtful, easy and fairly quick gift ideas to tell Mom how much you care. We've got some good excuses if you need them too.

ANYTIME: GIFT CARD

You can use a Gift Card anytime this things is over. You're already late, might as well, give Mom something she (and maybe you *wink wink*) can use in the future when this madness is over. Just make sure you check the expiration before purchasing.

OLD FAITHFUL: FLOWERS

You're late, blame it on the florist! Mom, I love you all year 'round. You don't only have to get flowers on Mother's Day. Now that you have the time, contact a local florist and make them special. A simple, you're the best and I love you card will make that smile wider.

MOM HAS A HOBBY OR SPECIAL SOMETHING? PERSONALIZE IT

We're already stuck at home attempting to learn new things or actually doing it (good for you!) If your mom wants to get in better shape, take up a new hobby or simply learn something new, why not pay for a private class/instructor. The economy is hurting right now and you're killing a few birds with one stone. Reach out to local businesses, make mom happy and pat yourself on the back for thinking outside the box (and keeping them at home).

YOU HAVE TIME, MAKE SOMETHING

Again, you're already late, just let mom know you're working on something special and it's not ready yet. Make an actual or digital photo album, make her a special card, a painting, knit/crochet, whatever! Let's be honest, someone taking the time out to make something specific to you is always special. C'mon! Mom deserves this one. Let your creativity flow. Moms like that sort of stuff.

Some more things to noodle on...

  • A special photo shoot: for her, of her grandbabies. You can do this at home now with a smart phone or just wait for a professional to do it all.

  • A nutritionist to teach her better eating habits. Only do this if your mom is up for it. Make sure you're not insinuating anything or pushing your views on her. Thin line here folks.

  • A vacation (of sorts): Treat her to a weekend of "as you wish". Mom doesn't have to lift a finger or get out of bed. You take care of it all of a weekend. A day is not enough :) or you can treat her to an actual vacation once this is all over. As you wish.
